What Do We Do?
At Howden Photography we like to be transparent in what we do and how we do it. Each section below provides a summary of how Wedding Photographers work and why we feel our services are priced fairly. We continually develop and grow our skills and successes in this demanding industry and strive to keep up with all the latest technology and trending techniques. Take a look below at some of the areas we have to cover in our industry....
Initial Booking
When booking with us, we like to be transparent in what we do. We offer a call or video call to go through the specifics of what we offer. You then receive an in-depth contract of your day and the package details you have booked with us. Once you are in the diary that's it for now!!
Pre Wedding Day
Before your wedding day we like to contact you about 6 weeks before and send a questionnaire to you to be filled in with details of your day and your group photo list. We then arrange a call if you wish to run through this plan so we all know how the day will run.
Wedding Day
On the day we follow the plan and sometimes have to deviate, but we are always prepared. We make you feel comfortable and help out if needed. Dressing the bride, fixing button holes etc.... the list goes on.
We have over 25 years combined experience in making your day run smoothly.
Culling / Editing
After the wedding we maticulously choose your photos from all the photos we took on the day. These are then edited in professional grade software to our style before being exported and uploaded to the website. This process takes up to 6 weeks to complete especially if we have Hybrid highlight videos to deliver too.

Admin
On top of our job we have admin!!! This can take a lot of time. Managing client databases, Website maintenance, Social media updates and post, Advertising, Wedding shows, Producing new flyers, business cards, Wedding albums, prints, USB's. The list goes on. We also hone tour skills and spend man hours learning and testing new techniques.
Equipment Maintenance
Equipment has to be serivced, maintained and cleaned. We take care of all our kit and make sure batteries are fully charged and working, Settings are correct before every wedding, synchronise times on kit including the drone, and other cameras, software updates.... again another huge part of being a wedding photographer.
Insurances & Costs
We ourselves have costs in the wedding industry. This includes, Buying upgraded cameras and equipment, Insurance for cameras and drones as well as public liability, software costs, accommodation, advertising costs, website costs, client management systems and more....
Wedding Shows
We like to be part of Wedding shows at least 2 times a year. This gives us the opportunity to meet new couples looking for photographers but also allows us to meet fellow vendors in the wedding industry.
A fabulous opportunity and we love doing these events.
Conclusion
As you will see for the endless list above, it is not a case of taking photos and sending them to you. Most clients don't realise the amount of time that is put into producing amazing photos to be delivered to you. All that goes on in the back ground take time and the price of your wedding photographer will depend on their experience, technique level and style, as well as getting to know them so you can work well together to get the results you are looking for. We are full transparent with our photos and you can visit many of our cline galleries and see all the photos from the day. This gives you an idea of actual photos of the day, not just the Wow!! photos.
